I have been under the aegis of my Guru (Dr. K Muralidharan) for over 25 years and for me it has been a life transforming period. I went through a process of releasing ego and emotions which took quite some years. Even though it may sound simple, letting go of ego is not easy.
I realized that ego resides in simple thoughts and actions, which we conduct unknowingly everyday. Ego stems from desire, ego stems from ignorance. we suffer from ego of insecurity, ego of acquisition and ego of position, not to mention ego of the body. In fact, ego that I AM THE BODY is the biggest ego we nurture.
When I reflected upon the words of my Guru ‘One who says I have no ego is the biggest container of ego’, I realized how deep the words were. In fact, surrender of ego is the first step towards progress in spirituality.
May we all strive to become egoless and support each other in the process.
